Operations Manager M/W, Utrecht

At Dubarry of Ireland in De Meern, we’re simply looking for someone who takes ownership. We are an Irish heritage brand (founded in 1937, best known for our indestructible leather boots), and you will become our Operations Manager for mainland Europe. You are fully responsible for the operation here. You report to the Finance Director in Ireland, but in De Meern, you are in charge.What will you really be doing? In reality, you wear two hats: Operations Manager and Office Manager. That means the role is very broad. You are a leader: You manage a team of 6 people (Warehouse, Customer Service, Administration). You enable them to do their jobs, handle performance conversations, and keep the team spirit strong.You are the planner: You ensure stock levels are correct, trucks from Ireland are unloaded on time, and logistics run smoothly. You are the caretaker: Leaking roof? Coffee machine empty? You handle it. You manage the building and all facility-related contracts. Why is this a great role? Freedom: Ireland monitors the numbers, but you decide how the day-to-day operation runs.Impact: You’re not a small cog in a big corporate machine. Your decisions have an immediate effect on the shop floor. The team: A small, close-knit group of people with a no-nonsense mindset. Why might you NOT want this job? It’s very hands-on: If you feel above packing a box or fixing a leaking tap, this role won’t make you happy.Peak periods: Trade shows and the high season get busy. You need to switch easily between strategic discussions with Ireland and operational firefighting in the warehouse. System work: You’ll work extensively with our ERP system (Prima). You need to enjoy this — or be willing to learn it quickly.Who are we looking for? We’re not asking for a unicorn, but ideally you: Have experience managing a team or running an office. Are fluent in Dutch and English (English is the working language with HQ). Understand the difference between debtors and creditors and aren’t afraid of VAT returns.What’s in it for you?
