Backroads seeks an organized and proactive People&Culture Specialist to support our European HR operations, focusing on change management, communication, and capability building across the organization. Responsibilities

HR Projects&Change Management: collaborate with the People Operations Manager and Senior Manager P&C to roll out new P&C initiatives, ensuring timely staffing, communication, Workday updates, system enhancements, legal and AI updates, and keep Europe P&C team members in the loop. Learning&Development: liaison with Leader Development and P&C to consolidate information, develop relevant communications for P&C team members, Field Staff and stakeholders. Process Documentation: document repetitive HR processes to improve efficiency for training and onboarding of new P&C team members. Jira Management: respond promptly to employee inquiries with empathy and clarity, gather FAQs, and propose updates to handbooks, contracts and outward communications based on these FAQs. Health&Safety: implement and expand processes to ensure Field Staff have required health&safety items, schedule medical checks, verify course completion, and partner with external vendors. Contract Management&Payroll Registrations: assist in preparing employment contracts and payroll registrations for selected European countries with high attention to detail and timeliness. Documentation and Compliance: secure A-1 forms and other required documents for European field staff, facilitate secondment papers, and ensure mandatory safety and security training completion.Termination&Deactivation: perform employee deactivations at the end of the season, ensuring proper documentation and compliance, documenting the process and identifying efficiency opportunities. Leaves of Absence&Workplace Injuries: handle sensitive and ongoing leave or injury cases in certain countries. Qualifications

2‑5 years’ experience in Change Management, Project Management, HR Administration, Learning&Development, or a similar role. Ability to synthesize complex information and explain it to a wide audience ranging from executive stakeholders to new Field Staff. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams across different regions. Demonstrated initiative and genuine satisfaction from supporting Backroads employees and internal stakeholders.Proficiency in HR systems and interest in understanding the mechanics behind processes; Workday and Jira experience are a plus. Strong attention to detail and sensitivity to confidential information. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong command of spoken and written English is required; additional languages, particularly Dutch, are highly valued but not required.
