MECHANICAL ENGINEER - PRECISION MECHANICS - POINT-OF-CARE DIAGNOSTICS&ADVANCED WEARABLES
About Us At
2M Engineering
, we are dedicated to advancing healthcare and human performance through cutting-edge sensor technology. Our multidisciplinary team develops
point-of-care diagnostic
devices
and
advanced wearable sensor platforms
for medical, sports and research applications. We are looking for a
Mechanical Engineer
at the start of their career, with a strong foundation in
precision mechanics and advanced construction principles
, ready to grow alongside our senior engineers in real product development.
Your Role As a
Mechanical Engineer
, you will contribute to the design, analysis and optimization of mechanical and mechatronic systems for our diagnostic devices and wearable platforms. You will work closely with senior engineers, R&D;, electronics and software teams to develop
high-precision, reliable and
manufacturable
solutions that meet stringent medical and product standards. Your hands-on mechanical skills,
SolidWorks expertise
and willingness to learn will be central to your growth in this role.
Key Responsibilities Contribute to the
mechanical design
of precision instruments and wearable devices, under the guidance of senior engineers. Perform
simulations
(FEA, thermal, structural, kinematic) to validate and refine designs. Apply
solid construction principles
to create robust, manufacturable mechanical assemblies. Collaborate with electrical and software engineers as part of multidisciplinary project teams. Maintain
design documentation and version control
using
SolidWorks and PDM
. Build, test and iterate on prototypes— hands-on work in the lab and workshop is part of the role. Support compliance with
medical device regulations and industry standards
.
Your Profile BSc or MSc in
Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Mechatronics
, or a closely related mechanics-focused field.
We are specifically looking for a true mechanical engineer
— broad multidisciplinary programs such as biomedical or general engineering are less likely to be the right fit for this role. Strong motivation to learn, grow, and take on increasing responsibility. We value curiosity, ownership, and a hands-on mindset highly; a motivated junior engineer with the right attitude can be an excellent fit.3+ years of experience
in mechanical or mechatronic design is preferred, but recent MSc graduates with strong relevant internships, thesis work, or demonstrable hands-on project experience are warmly encouraged to apply. Solid foundation in
fine mechanics, precision engineering, and sound construction principles
. Strong experience with
SolidWorks
; familiarity with
PDM
is a plus. Hands-on experience with
simulations
such as FEA, structural, thermal, or motion analysis. Good understanding of
materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
, including machining, sheet metal, and injection molding. Affinity with
regulated industries
such as medical, aerospace, or high-tech, or a clear willingness to learn. Familiarity with optics or wearable form factors is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine
hands-on approach
to prototyping and testing. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the confidence to ask questions, learn from others, and contribute actively to the team.
What We Offer A dynamic, high-tech environment where
engineering meets healthcare innovation
. The opportunity to work on
cutting-edge projects
in point-of-care diagnostics and advanced wearables. A collaborative team of experts in
mechanics, optics, electronics, and software
— the chance to learn directly from senior engineers. Competitive salary and benefits package. Clear
professional growth
path with development opportunities, training and increasing responsibility.
