We are looking for a business controller to lead the finance team and guide the organisation into its next phase. This entrepreneurial minded and analytical colleague will help us analyse our financial performance and provide reliable insights to management. He or she will act as the financial conscience of the organisation and ensure a long-term financial vision. This requires a pragmatic approach and a hands‑on attitude. The role is highly varied and covers the entire spectrum from journal entries to multi‑year strategic issues.
Key responsibilities
Internal and external reporting
Communicating a true and fair view of the (financial) situation of the organization through internal and external reports to shareholders and other direct stakeholders.
KPI Dashboard: financial and operational management information for the departments
Reports and analyses, where possible using Business Intelligence software
Profit and loss account
Balance Sheet Statement
Monthly closing and forecast
Annual Reports / Financial Statements
Strategic Planning&Control
Influencing the future situation by advising on financial strategy. Translating this by generating and validating insightful forecasts about the expected financial development.

Developing and executing performance program

Continuous Improvement
Continuously improving financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance the efficiency, quality, and controllability of the organization.
Identifying and implementing process improvements within Finance and related departments
Optimizing and automating financial processes and reporting
Improving the quality, reliability, and timeliness of management information
Initiating and leading digitalization and efficiency improvement projects
Standardizing working methods, procedures, and internal controls
Identifying and mitigating financial and operational risks
Promoting a data‑driven and continuous improvement culture within the organization
Supporting the implementation and optimization of ERP and Business Intelligence systems
Monitoring performance and following up on improvement actions based on KPIs
Responsibility for accounting and keeping the organization‘in control’ (including internal control, administrative organization, financial and management control).

Role in the organization The Business Controller reports hierarchically to the Managing Director (based in England) and functionally to the COO and CCO, advises the (senior) management team, and is responsible for managing the financial organization (1.3 FTE).
Desired profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 5 years of working experience in a comparable role and within a (manufacturing) organization.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent command of the English language.
Approachable and strong interpersonal skills. Builds relationships easily within a mid‑size organization and collaborates effectively with production, operations, sales, and management.
Leadership and connecting capabilities. Able to engage and motivate people, strengthen collaboration, and further develop a professional finance organization.
Organizational awareness. Understands organizational dynamics and collaborates effectively across departments while keeping the intended results in mind.
Hands‑on improvement mindset: able to initiate and implement improvements (PDCA).
