For an international, multidisciplinary high‑tech environment, we are looking for a Software Quality Engineer with a strong quality mindset. Someone who enjoys working on complex systems, takes ownership of verification and validation activities, and actively contributes to delivering reliable, high‑performance software products that makea real impact.
The role As a Software Quality Engineer, you work within one or more agile project teams that develop complex high‑tech systems. The focus is on system software that connects different software layers, including real‑time and embedded software components. The system includes a user interface that enables operators to work efficiently and reliably.
You are part of the quality team and focus on verifying and validating the total system behavior of an integrated product. This includes both manual and automated testing where possible. You safeguard the overall software quality and actively steer improvement actions to ensure stable performance in the field.
What you will do You assess software requirements and related feature specifications and translate them into robust verification and validation activities. You define, steer, and safeguard test strategies and test plans with a strong shift‑left approach to detect issues as early as possible in the development process. You align with development teams on functional, unit, and system verification and validation plans and monitor results and follow‑up actions.
You organize and perform regular system tests, including total system tests, to monitor the overall status of the development project. You communicate and align with service, support, and other stakeholders and help steer the improvement actions needed to resolve issues at customer sites. You ensure proper knowledge transfer by creating clear release documentation for manufacturing, service, and other internal departments. You continuously look for opportunities to improve testing methods, tools, and processes.
Who you will work with You work in an international organization with a flat hierarchy and short lines of communication. You collaborate closely with software developers, architects, designers, and other disciplines in an open and creative environment where quality is a shared responsibility.
What you bring You hold a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or a similar field. You preferably have three to five years of experience in software development and software quality activities. You have a strong quality mindset and experience with modern software quality tools and methodologies. You understand system behavior, integrations, and preferably real‑time or embedded software.
You communicate clearly and confidently in both English and Dutch and are not afraid to convey critical or less positive messages when needed. You are eager to develop and introduce new working methods and tools to improve software quality. You have a hands‑on attitude, healthy career ambitions, and you live and work in the Netherlands, preferably in or near the Venlo region. You are available for 32–40 hours per week and comfortable working in a hybrid setup, combining on‑site work in Venlo with remote working.
