About This Opportunity
You will unload, sort, scan, label, and place packages in designated areas.
You will transfer packages from cages, gaylords or pallets to manual or powered conveyor belts, or vice versa.
You may be asked to assemble flat‑folded wire cages by lifting and latching the cage walls.
You may be asked to assemble packages on pallets from the floor to a height of 7 ft (2.1 m) and wrap the pallets with shrink wrap.
You may be asked to use manual pallet jacks and 2‑wheel or 4‑wheel carts, and/or push cages (on wheels).
Our packages can range from envelopes to 100 lb (45 kg). Most packages are 5 lb (2.3 kg) or less, except on designated heavyweight sorts. Heavy packages are 2‑person team lift.
Being able to stand and walk for long periods of time (up to 8‑10 hours).
Functional balance is required to complete the essential tasks.
Alertness and concentration is required to sort packages correctly.
You have good judgement/decision‑making skills – being able to think quickly on the spot.
Being able to effectively communicate with other individuals and management team.
Working in a team setting and independently.
Maintaining the package/hour sorting ratio established for the day.
Cleaning duties as required.
Possibility of electric pallet truck training.
Opportunity to join OHS committee.
Other duties as required.
