The“Industry” team focuses on the actively seeking and delivering implementations of InControl simulation software and building&maintaining software applications in the sectors: Material Handling, Airports, Warehousing, Logistics.
The basis of our products is strong and proven digital twin software (discrete event simulation). That core competency we translate into end‑use applications to be used by the operational counterparts with our customers.
Your key responsibilities InControl is looking for an Application Developer– Supply Chain Simulation for our Industry team. In this role you are responsible for the development of innovative simulation software for our customers, from concept to implementation. You work on defining customer demand for building, delivering and maintaining simulation‑based B2B applications. Customers, such as airports, warehouse and logistical companies, use these simulation‑based tools to make logistics processes more efficient and safer. This means a combination of good interviewing and listening skills combined with strong conceptual capabilities and a good understanding how to build and deliver an application that meets market requirements.
Meaningful work, which is also technically and conceptually challenging and is done together with professional colleagues in an inspiring (inter)national environment. By making logistical operations more (energy) efficient and safer, you contribute to a more sustainable world.
Required Skills and Experience The Industry Team consists of dedicated professionals who combine their passion for technology and software development with a genuine interest in the various customers and solutions that InControl offers. For this team, we are looking for an experienced technical person with strong people and organization skills. This role also entails technical and operational discussions with the customers in order to grasp their requirements and translate these into applications or other answers.
We would like to meet you if you:
have communication skills in Dutch (level C1 language proficiency) and English;
have several years (3 or more) of relevant work experience in one (or more) of the following areas: B2B application development, ERP‑integrations, WMS, industrial engineering, logistics engineering, civil engineering, transport planning, operational research, baggage handling systems, architecture&design of warehouses or distribution centers.
capable and experienced in data analysis.
capable and experienced in having consultancy‑minded customer conversations.
have experience and affinity with software and application development, where knowledge of the development stack used is important (C#, MS SQL, Visual Studio, etc.);
derives satisfaction from solving complex (mathematical/logistical) puzzles and conceptualizing and developing (simulation) software applications;
have a completed technical academic or HBO education (e.g. mathematics, econometrics, computer science/informatics, operations research, artificial intelligence or equivalent);
are able to work and function in multidisciplinary and international project teams;
innovative, able to work autonomously, solution‑oriented, team‑focus, and ambitious;
are available full‑time (part‑time is negotiable) – preferably available at short notice.
