Quality Manager– QA/QC

Location: Zwijndrecht, Netherlands. The role leads the QA/QC team in the Ashland Industries Nederland B.V. laboratory, ensuring that raw materials, intermediate, and finished products meet established quality requirements through chemical, physical, and analytical methods. The position also oversees routine controls of process streams and the wastewater treatment plant.The Quality Manager reports in a matrix structure to the Site Manager and the Global Quality Director and is responsible for the following activities: Lead the QA/QC team (13FTE, 10indirect) and participate in the Ashland Zwijndrecht management and crisis management teams. Execute all activities under ISO‑9001, EffCI, and EXCiPACT quality programs.Actively contribute to a Zero‑Incident culture covering safety and environment. Report departmental KPIs to the management team and quality‑related KPIs to Ashland Global. Investigate complaints, report findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure product and equipment quality throughout theirlifecycle through qualification and (re)validation.Increase GMP awareness on the shop floor. Plan and lead certification and customer audits. Initiate and guide improvements in laboratory quality, methods, and procedures. Release products for customers. Apply Lean‑SixSigma principles; black‑ or green‑belt experience is a plus. Leverage knowledge of the chemical industry and experience with ingredient manufacturing for regulated sectors.Qualifications required: Completed HBO degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Laboratory, or Pharmacology, with substantial leadership experience. Demonstrated experience in quality assurance/GMP. Willingness to develop and maintain expertise in relevant areas. Knowledge of typical QC activities.Strong communication and reporting skills, both internally and externally. Safety awareness. Ability to analyze complex issues independently and develop research plans. Capability to make ad‑hoc decisions on acute quality matters in relation to market complexity and regulatory requirements. Commitment to ensuring the quality of final products.Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
